An upper level high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the yellow line) will take control over the Pacific Northwest through the rest of the week. An upper level low pressure trough (“U” shape on yellow line) will take over by sending a frontal system to Oregon bringing the chances of rain back for at least part of the weekend as the rain should return Saturday night into Sunday with another wave possible on Monday which could have snow levels down low enough to give us at least a dusting of snow on the valley floor and possibly a couple of inches between 500 ft. and 1,000 ft. Mt. Ashland is closed now due to poor snow conditions. Hoodoo is open (as usual closed Wednesdays). Willamette Pass will be open on a limited basis for the upcoming weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please check their web sites for the latest details and updates as the new storms could improve the snowpack for skiing.
