Look back a couple of posts and you will find a comment above the forecast with an answer to my weekly weather question that is close, but not a winner. Give it a try. You could win.

________________

Here is my weekly weather quiz question. We have had rain and snow but let’s focus on total precipitation which includes rain and melted snow or other frozen precipitation. What US city has the highest normal annual precipitation in inches? Extra credit if you get the right total too. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level low pressure trough (“U” shape on yellow line) will be moving through and a  surface low and frontal system pushes into Oregon (later than expected) for another chance for rain heavy at times, and gusty winds. A very wet airflow ahead of and behind another frontal system (position shown is Saturday) will continue the heavy rain flowing through Oregon. Mt. Ashland is counting on this new storm to improve the  snow conditions so they plan to open Thursday. Hoodoo is open (as usual closed Wednesdays). Willamette Pass reports they are on ”tentative” standby for Thursday and Friday, and will be open on Saturday and Sunday. Please check the ski resort web sites for the latest details and updates as the new storms could improve the snowpack for skiing.
