Clouds kept the valleys cooler on Thursday, but that will be changing. An upper level trough of low pressure will push eastward out of the area by the weekend allowing a high pressure ridge to move in from the Pacific Ocean to bringing much warmer temperatures with it. Today we’ll see a mix of clouds and sun with a high temperature in the low to mid 70s. Much the same will happen on Saturday warming to near 80. Nice weather for the Scandinavian Festival in Junction City. Look for the mid 80s for Sunday followed by 90s for next week to start the Lane County Fair.

There was no winner in this week’s quiz. The question was: How much of the Earth was covered by glaciers during the ice ages?  The answer is 10% of the Earth was covered by glaciers during the ice ages. Another quiz question will be posted next Monday.  The winner will get one week of personalized forecasts for free.
