Sorry, but no winner this week for my weekly weather quiz question.
________________
Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. We all know that lightning is dangerous, but there is one direct beneficial aspect to lightning. What is it? Here is the correct answer. Lightning helps plants. The air in our atmosphere is about 78% nitrogen, but it is in a form that plants cannot use. Lightning helps dissolve the nitrogen into the water to create a natural fertilizer so plants can absorb it through their roots. Lightning also produces ozone, a gas that helps protect the Earth from the dangerous rays of the sun and lightning helps to maintain the electrical balance of the Earth. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.
