It’s time for my weekly weather quiz question. This week’s question is: what is the “Heat Index” and why is it important to know what it is? Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Advisories: NONE AT THIS TIME.

_______________

high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on orange line) is moving eastward away from as an upper level low pressure trough (“U” shape on orange line) moves up increasing onshore airflow bringing in some more clouds with the chance of precipitation mainly in the foothills and Cascades. I don’t see any measurable precipitation being produced from it locally. The chance of rain will sneak in late Sunday night and Monday as a parade of frontal systems heads our way. For you skywatchers there will be an annular eclipse of the Sun on Sunday evening. For more details go to: this address .
