Sorry no winner this week. Here is my weather quiz question for the last time. Since the tropical storm season has officially started as of today and we have already had a tropical disturbance that pushed into northern Florida I thought a hurricane question would be in order. What are the three main things needed to form a tropical storm/hurricane? Here is the answer. In order to produce a tropical storm which could grow into a hurricane three main things are necessary. The ocean water temperature has to be 85 degrees F. or more, low pressure has to be building at the surface and high pressure must be in the upper levels above the surface low pressure. I’ll have another weekly weather quiz question for you starting next Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.
