Here is my new weekly weather quiz question. What is an “occluded front?” Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Advisories: NONE AT THIS TIME

_______________

An upper level low is slowly moving eastward and as it moves away from us we will start to dry out and warm up a bit. A frontal system will approach the Pacific Northwest Thursday, weak high pressure will take over after that, then another frontal system returns a few more clouds and the slight chance for showers over the weekend. The pollen count will stay high enough,  when the showers taper off, to bother those athletes who are allergic. So far, at least, we don’t have smoke from wildfires or grass field burning as we did during the previous Olympic Trials held here.

The pollen count for the Eugene-Springfield area is:
Grass- Low (2)
Trees- Moderate (18)
