This week is “Lightning Safety Awareness Week” and the National Weather Service has a special web page just full of things you should know about lightning.

An upper level low is slowly moving eastward and as it moves away from us we will start to dry out and warm up a bit Wednesday. A frontal system will approach the Pacific Northwest Thursday returning the slight chance of showers, weak high pressure tries to take over after that, but another trough and a frontal system return a few more clouds and the slight chance for showers over the weekend into Monday. The pollen count will stay high enough, when the showers taper off, to bother those athletes who are allergic. So far, at least, we don’t have smoke from wildfires or grass field burning as we did during the previous Olympic Trials held here.
