Another Monday and that means it’s time for my weekly weather quiz question. Here it is. Scientists have determined that if we listen to the sound a particular creature makes we can determine the current ambient air temperature. What creature are they describing and how do you calculate the temperature? Please post your answer as a comment at the end of these forecasts. The first person to post the correct answer will win one week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

Remember, the Vernal Equinox (the beginning of spring) takes place next Saturday March 20th at 10:32 AM.

The latest frontal system approaching the Oregon coast will be held off by a ridge of high pressure keeping us relative dry through the day today. The precipitation will last a short time then we go back to high pressure that will hold off any storms and return the sunshine that should last through Saturday, the first day of spring. The next storm system will be setting up offshore by Saturday morning to bring the chance of rain back by Sunday.
