Here is my weekly weather quiz question for this week. Today is your last chance to win this week. N.O.A.A. (The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) has a division called the N.S.S.L. What do the letters stand for and what do they do there? Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good Luck.

Advisories: NONE AT THIS TIME.

An upper air trough of low pressure (“U” shape on the brown line) will sit offshore for a short time. That, when added to a weak frontal system (position shown still offshore) that will brush by Oregon today, will increase onshore airflow enough to bring some clouds and cool us down a bit for the weekend. High pressure (“arch” shape on brown line on first graphic) will take over after that and will give us great weather into next week.

**Because weather forecasting is a combination of science, intuition, and timing there can be no absolute guarantees that individual forecasts will be 100% accurate. Nature is in a constant state of flux and sudden unexpected weather events can happen.
