No winner again this week so here’s the weather quiz question again. Scientists have determined that if we listen to the sound a particular creature makes we can determine the current ambient air temperature. What creature are they describing and how do you calculate the temperature?  The creature is a cricket.  To calculate the current ambient air temperature you count the number of chirps in 14 seconds and add 40. Here is an example of how this works. A cricket chirps 72 times per minute at 60 degrees F and for every four chirps less you subtract a degree from 60 degrees F. I’ll have a new question for you Monday. The first person to post the correct answer will win one week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs.

High pressure is moving over to be replaced by a low pressure area offshore. The next storm system (you can’t see it yet) will be setting up offshore to push through over the weekend to bring at least a slight chance of rain back. There will be a short break without rain and then another storm system will brig the chance of rain back on Wednesday.
