A high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on brown line) has been building over us and allowed for hot weather. The ridge has weakened and along with a weak frontal system fell apart on its way to the Pacific Northwest not having any effect on our weather except maybe to cool us down a bit for today. The high pressure ridge will strengthen again for another round of increasing temperatures back to hot.
Forecast for the Southern and lower Mid Willamette Valley including Eugene-Springfield and Albany-Corvallis: Sunny and just a bit cooler today, clear tonight, sunny and warmer Wednesday, clear Wednesday night, sunny and Hot Thursday, then mostly clear Thursday night highs 90-100 lows 55-57. Mostly sunny and hot Friday, partly cloudy in the evening, mostly cloudy with a slight (20%) chance of showers late Friday night and Saturday AM, partly cloudy and cooler with a slight (20%) chance of thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening, mostly cloudy late Saturday night, a mix of clouds and sun Sunday AM, mostly sunny Sunday afternoon, then partly cloudy Sunday night and Monday highs 96-82 lows 56-52.
