Sorry, no winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. Why are clouds white?  Here is the correct answer. Clouds are white because they reflect the light of the sun. Light is made up of the colors of the rainbows and when you add them all together you get white. The sun appears a yellow color because it sends out more yellow light than any other color. Clouds reflect all of the colors the exact same  amount so they look white. I’ll have another weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.

We’ll warm up a bit again through the rest of the weekend as a high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape in blue arrows builds in. Another upper level low (“U” shape in blue arrows shaded in grey) will slide in behind the ridge early next week. A frontal system will move in today bringing more clouds and cooler temperatures again. So far, and I emphasize so far, it looks like the Labor Day weekend will nice and dry, but it is too early to be certain.

**Because weather forecasting is a combination of science, intuition, and timing there can be no absolute guarantees that individual forecasts will be 100% accurate. Nature is in a constant state of flux and sudden unexpected weather events can happen.
