Here is my weekly weather quiz question. This is your last chance to win this week. Give it a try. Can a bolt of lightning appear in any other color that white? Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level low (“U” shape in blue arrows shaded in grey) is sliding down Western British Columbia toward us. The Labor Day Holiday weekend will be really nice. The temperatures won’t be summer hot, but rather average for the time of the year, but it will be dry. A weak frontal system will try to move through Oregon Monday, mainly to our north, with not much effect once again. A high pressure ridge will warm us up next week just in time for the kids to go back to school. [Note: at 6:58 AM today it was officially the “Full Sturgeon Moon” which is a blue moon. What is a blue moon? It is the second full moon to appear in the same month. The moon itself will not actually appear to be blue in color.]

**Because weather forecasting is a combination of science, intuition, and timing there can be no absolute guarantees that individual forecasts will be 100% accurate. Nature is in a constant state of flux and sudden unexpected weather events can happen.
