high pressure ridge (“Arch shape with blue arrows ”) has brought back the sunshine and warmed us up. The big problem is the smoke that is being pushed at us from the East. A surface thermal trough of low pressure (induced by the warm temperatures) pushed eastward cooling us a bit and it will shove the smoke to the East away from us. A upper level trough of low pressure (“U” shape shaded and in blue arrows) moved out of the Gulf of Alaska, along with the ridge will push a weak cold front through between Saturday and Sunday, but will only bring us a few more clouds and cooler temperatures. It will warm up again next week as high pressure moves in and strengthens.
