A high pressure ridge continues move away from the Pacific Northwest and it is weakening. An upper level low (small area shaded in blue) is moving across Southern California and will spin up clouds at us. A frontal system is sliding through the Pacific Northwest leading a parade of storms that are headed our way. Another surface frontal system that move through by Sunday will increase the clouds and the chance of rain too with more rain Monday. We are finally going to see our first significant rain of the season.

We already celebrated Columbus Day, but today is the 50th anniversary of the big Columbus Day storm that dev1stated the Pacific Northwest in 1962. For more details go to the National Weather Service Forecast Office Portland.
