Here is my weekly weather quiz question. What is the difference between a “dormant” volcano and an “extinct” volcano? Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

There has been a break from the chance of showers with high pressure (shaded “Arch” shape moving away) that took over, but that will end by late today. An upper level low off the coast (shaded “U” shape on last graphic) will push a frontal system into Oregon by late this afternoon bringing back the wet weather. Another frontal system (the next in a series of storms) will push through for the weekend (position shown is Sunday) as upper low pressure takes over increasing the rain chances again.
