Here is my weekly weather quiz question. Give it a try. This is your last day this week to win. What is the difference between a “dormant” volcano and an “extinct” volcano? Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level trough of low pressure coming out of the Gulf of Alaska (shaded “U” shape) is pushing a frontal system at us bringing back the wet weather just in time for the weekend and both college football games. An upper level low (shaded area) moving through Southern California is trying to send clouds and rain up at us from the south also. More frontal systems (like this one on Monday) will march in line through Oregon next week assuring the wet weather will stick around.
