An upper level trough of low pressure (shaded “U”shape in blue arrows) is still pushing subtropical moisture into the Pacific Northwest that is coming from Hawaii (called the “Pineapple Express”). That is why our temperatures have stayed well above normal. A frontal system moved through Oregon and more are on the way. Here is a look at a frontal system that will push in by Tuesday (position shown is Wednesday) to keep the parade of storms going. A happy note for skiers, Mt. Ashland says they will open this Thursday. Hoodoo and Willamette Pass are still closed waiting for more snow.
