Sorry, but no winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last chance time. Please define “Limnology.” Hint: it can be a deep subject. Here is the correct answer. “In hydrologic terms, the branch of hydrology that pertains to the study of lakes.” Get it, lakes are deep. Sorry that’s my weird sense of humor sneaking in. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting next Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.

The high pressure (shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) is opening up allowing storms to return to the Pacific Northwest. Watch out for slippery roadways late night and early AM due to fog freezing on the surface of the road through Sunday. The first frontal system in quite some time will be moving into the Pacific Northwest next Wednesday bringing back the chance for rain. Another frontal system will approach the Pacific Northwest late next week.
