Sorry, but no winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. Please define “Syzygy.” Hint: Think of shooting a game of pool. Here is the correct answer. In solar-terrestrial terms, syzygy is the instance (new moon or full moon) when the earth, sun, and moon are all in a straight line. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting next Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count.

An upper level low (shaded “U” shape) has moved in along the coast. A frontal system has pushed its way through the Pacific Northwest and is being  followed by another front. The upper level trough of low pressure will then move eastward across the Pacific Northwest pushing clouds and showers our way.
