Here is my weekly weather quiz question. What is the difference between “weather” and “climate?” Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Note: Don’t forget that we go Daylight Saving Time this weekend. The skies should be clear enough to enjoy the extra daylight Sunday. Remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour at bedtime Saturday night (Officially at 2 AM Sunday). It’s also time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors and CO detectors, if you have them and you should have them, so says the fire department.

An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape) has moved out taking the sunshine with it. A frontal system pushed through replacing the sunshine with clouds and rain. An upper level trough of low pressure (Shaded “U” shape) is moving in behind the ridge of high pressure. A new ridge dries us out Friday through the weekend and then a new trough takes over early next week. A frontal system looks like it will get stuck as a stationary front well north of us next week and move in midweek.
