Here is my weekly weather quiz question. What is a “Microburst?” Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level high pressure ridge (shaded “Arch”shape) has pulled northward and low pressure (shaded “Crescent” shape offshore) is bringing moisture our way increasing the clouds and chance of rain. A frontal system will bring more showers. The upper level low will move closer to us increasing that moisture flow. Another frontal system will move on a course south of us through California taking the rain to the south away from the Willamette Valley and the Umpqua Valley for the most part just in time for Easter Sunday.
