Here is my new weekly weather quiz question. This is your last chance to win this week. What is an “occluded front?” Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Don’t forget to take off those studded tires! April 1st was the deadline. The fine is pretty steep so get them off before you get caught.

An upper level high pressure ridge (shaded “Arch”shape) gave us plenty of sun and warm temperatures. That’s gone now and the clouds and showers have returned as a trough of low pressure slides eastward south of us once again and a frontal system will move through Oregon tonight followed by another Saturday. More frontal systems will approach the Pacific Northwest in the middle of next week.
