Preliminary forecast  for the Ducks Football “Spring Game” Saturday at 11:00 AM: So far it looks like we’ll see partly cloudy skies all day with increasing clouds in the evening. The slight chance of showers should hold off until late at night. It will be a bit cool early with temperatures near 50 slowly warming up to a high near 70 late in the afternoon.

+++

Preliminary forecast for the Eugene Marathon Sunday April 28th: AM clouds with a slight (20%) chance of a shower, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Temperatures will be near 45 at the start warming to an afternoon high near 68. It will be a near perfect” day for a marathon whether you are a fast runner, a slow jogger, a walker, a wheelchair athlete, or a spectator.

Here is my new weekly weather quiz question. What is “radiational cooling?” Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Upper level high pressure (Shaded “Arch” shape) has brought plenty of sunshine back, at least for your workweek, but low pressure (shaded “U” shape) will be dropping down from the Gulf of Alaska. Add that to a cold front (position shown is Sunday) that will sweep more to our north (the strongest part anyway) Saturday and we’ll see just the slight chance of showers back by Saturday night and Sunday.
