Sorry, no winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “radiational cooling?” Here is the correct answer. Radiational Cooling is the cooling of the Earth’s surface. At night, the Earth suffers a net heat loss to space due to terrestrial cooling. This is more pronounced when you have a clear sky. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level trough of low pressure (shaded “U” shape) is dropping down from the Gulf of Alaska and sliding through the Pacific Northwest.  A cold front is following closely behind the one that just came through and will bring the chance of rain back for tonight and Monday. A high pressure ridge will take over drying us out for the rest of the week.
