A Wasatch Wind is a strong easterly wind blowing out of the mouths of the canyons of the Wasatch Mountains onto the plains of Utah. Also called canyon wind. An upper level high pressure ridge (shaded “Arch” shape) that has been dominating our weather pattern will move away from us slowly. Here’s the cold front that will help get mom have at least a small chance of getting wet on her special day today. The front is a lot weaker than I expected so mom’s chance of getting wet has dropped. An upper level low (Shaded “U” shape) will move up to the Oregon coast shifting the airflow from the southwest just in time for Mother’s Day. Another cold front should be approaching the Oregon coast by Wednesday.
