No winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “Wasatch Wind?” Here is the correct answer. A Wasatch Wind is a strong easterly wind blowing out of the mouths of the canyons of the Wasatch Mountains onto the plains of Utah. Also called canyon wind. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level high pressure ridge (shaded “Arch” shape) that has been dominating our weather pattern will move away from us slowly. Here’s the cold front that was a lot weaker than I expected so the rain chance for the day pretty much dissolved. An upper level low (Shaded “U” shape) will move up to the Oregon coast shifting the airflow from the southwest increasing our chances for rain tonight and Monday. Another cold front should be approaching the Oregon coast by Wednesday.
