We have a winner!  Tina Batori was the first person to post the correct answer – Australia. Here again is my weekly weather quiz question. There are many colloquial names given for tropical cyclones. Some examples are typhoon and hurricane. One of those names is “Willy Willy.” In what part of the world is a tropical cyclone called a”Willy Willy?” Tina correctly answered “Australia” is where tropical cyclones are called a Willy WIlly. I’ll have another weekly weather quiz for you starting next Monday.  The first person to post the correct answer will win one week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs.

_______________

A trough of low pressure has been over us (the shaded “U” ) and it has kept us cooler than normal and a bit wet. The high pressure ridge behind it (shaded “arch” shape ) and a surface high will give us sunshine and dry weather for a few days. Another upper level low will approach for the weekend bringing back the chance of rain by the middle of the weekend as a weak disturbance slides into California Sunday. The upper level low pressure trough will bring back the cooler than normal and and damp weather for unsettled conditions next week.
