Here is my new weekly weather quiz question. Please define the term “backdoor cold front.” Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level low (Shaded “U” shape, more like a donut) has taken over bringing rain and dropping temperatures drastically. This unsettled weather will continue for the rest of the week as the low rotates over and then past us late Friday. It looks like there will still be just a chance of showers for the long Memorial Day Holiday weekend so plan accordingly. It will feel the coldest near or on the water. A complex frontal system will be approaching the West Coast Wednesday.
