The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Advisories: A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM THIS EVENING FOR THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH WILLAMETTE VALLEY FROM JUST NORTH OF MC MINNVILLE AND MOLALLA SOUTH THROUGH EUGENE/SPRINGFIELD TO JUST SOUTH OF COTTAGE GROVE, AND THE WESTERN COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE. A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM TONIGHT FOR THE NORTH OREGON CASCADE FOOTHILLS, THE CASCADE FOOTHILLS IN LANE COUNTY, AND THE UPPER HOOD RIVER VALLEY. A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM TONIGHT FOR EASTERN CURRY COUNTY, JOSEPHINE COUNTY, AND JACKSON COUNTY.
An upper level low pressure trough (Shaded “U” shape) is just offshore and will hold there for another day or so. A ridge of high pressure has been controlling our weather and low pressure will move in off the coast. For the 4th of July it looks like the upper level low will stay to our northwest over the Pacific Ocean and move just a little closer while high pressure that has been stuck from the Great Basin to us will weaken just a bit. That should keep the sunny and warm conditions with us through July 3rd and as the high weakens enough or pushes just a bit to the east we will see the low start to take over a bit returning some clouds and cooling us by Thursday the 4th. The high temperatures will cool enough to notice the difference for the 4th of July Holiday.
