Here is my weather quiz question for this week. Since I have had web access issues this week I will give you an extra day (Saturday) to come up with the correct answer. What is the “Green Sky” effect? Please place your answer as a comment after the forecasts. The first person to post the correct answer will win one week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.
_______________
A high pressure ridge coming out of the Gulf of Alaska (the “arch” formed by the blue arrows offshore aimed at Canada) and surface high pressure (the “H” off the Oregon coast) are drying us out and warming us up with temperatures getting above average for the interior valleys. High pressure will weaken and allow low pressure to take over toward the end of the weekend into next week allowing a series of storms to move through the Pacific Northwest.
