Advisories:

A Blue-Green Algae warning continues for Dexter Reservoir, Dorena Reservoir, and Fern Ridge Reservoir, and farther away at Devils Lake. Water monitoring has confirmed the presence of blue-green algae that can produce toxins, state public health officials said. The algae levels are likely associated with dangerous cyanotoxin concentrations in the water that can be harmful to humans and animals. Swallowing or inhaling water droplets, as well as skin contact with water, should be avoided according to the authorities.

An upper level trough of low pressure (Shaded “U” shape offshore) is moving toward the Oregon coast to replace the high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape) that gave us way above normal temperatures. That trough will keep us in a wet weather pattern for most of this week. A cold front will be approaching the Oregon coast by the end of the week. Autumn begins at 1:44 PM next Sunday September 22nd along with the Full Blue Moon (the full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox), so Summer is nearly over.
