Advisories:  A FREEZE WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING FOR THE KLAMATH BASIN, NORTHERN AND EASTERN KLAMATH COUNTY, AND FOR WESTERN, CENTRAL, AND EASTERN LAKE COUNTY.

A Blue-Green Algae warning continues for Dexter Reservoir, Dorena Reservoir, and Fern Ridge Reservoir, Walterville Pond, and farther away at Devils Lake. Water monitoring has confirmed the presence of blue-green algae that can produce toxins, state public health officials said. The algae levels are likely associated with dangerous cyanotoxin concentrations in the water that can be harmful to humans and animals. Swallowing or inhaling water droplets, as well as skin contact with water, should be avoided according to the authorities.

An upper level trough of low pressure (Shaded “U” shape offshore) is moving through Oregon to be replaced by a high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape) that will give us more sunshine, for a while. A cold front will be approaching the Oregon coast by the end of the week and another low pressure trough will be approaching. Autumn begins at 1:44 PM Sunday September 22nd along with the Full Blue Moon (the full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox), so Summer is nearly over.
