Advisories:

A Blue-Green Algae warning continues for Dorena Reservoir, and Fern Ridge Reservoir, Walterville Pond, and farther away at Devils Lake. It has been lifted for Dexter Reservoir. Water monitoring has confirmed the presence of blue-green algae that can produce toxins, state public health officials said. The algae levels are likely associated with dangerous cyanotoxin concentrations in the water that can be harmful to humans and animals. Swallowing or inhaling water droplets, as well as skin contact with water, should be avoided according to the authorities.

An upper level ridge of high pressure  (Shaded “Arch” shape) gave us a nice Thursday, but that’s behind us now. An upper level trough of low pressure (Shaded “U” shape on last graphic) will move in behind the high returning the chance for showers today through the weekend along with a cold front that is approaching the Oregon coast. Autumn begins at 1:44 PM this Sunday 22nd. The Full Harvest Moon (the full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox) occurred Thursday, so Summer will be officially  over soon. Another frontal system will move in between Sunday and Monday keeping the clouds and precipitation around.
