No winner this week. Here is my new weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is the first rule when driving in fog? The correct answer is use only lo beans while driving through fog. High beams show you more fog and can blind oncoming traffic. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Advisories:

  • A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UMTIL 7 AM TODAY FOR THE EASTERN DOUGLAS COUNTY FOOTHILLS, THE SOUTH CENTRAL CASCADES OF OREGON, THE SOUTHERN OREGON CASCADES, AND THE SISKIYOU MOUNTAINS.
  • A Blue-Green Algae warning  has been cancelled for Tenmile Lakes in Coos County and for Fern Ridge Reservoir, the warning remains in effect for Lost Creek Lake, and Willow Creek Reservoir (NE Oregon). Water monitoring has confirmed the presence of blue-green algae that can produce toxins, state public health officials said. The algae levels are likely associated with dangerous cyanotoxin concentrations in the water that can be harmful to humans and animals. Swallowing or inhaling water droplets, as well as skin contact with water, should be avoided according to the authorities.

The upper airflow has become a ridge of high pressure that will keep us in colder air for a day or two.. A frontal system moved through the Pacific Northwest bringing clouds and the chance of light rain and drizzle with it. Colder air will sweep in behind it.
