No winner so here is my new weekly weather quiz question for the last time. Define the term “mist.” Here is the correct answer. Mist is a visible aggregate of minute water particles suspended in the atmosphere that reduces visibility to less than 7 statute miles, but greater than or equal to 5/8 statute miles. It does not reduce visibility as much as fog and is often confused with drizzle. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

The Jet Stream airflow (Shaded area with blue arrows) moving from southwest to northeast is called the “Pineapple Express” because it is warm moist air coming from Hawaii. A frontal system has moved through to be followed by another tonight. A frontal system (position shown is Wednesday) will move into the Pacific Northwest Tuesday bringing even more rain followed by yet another frontal system Thursday.
