high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) is moving away from us and as 1t moves away an upper level trough of low pressure (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) takes over returning clouds and rain. A frontal system, pushed by the upper low, is headed our way with rain starting ahead of it. The upper airflow will turn out of the southwest bringing quite a bit of moisture to the Pacific Northwest.
