Here is my new weekly weather quiz question. Define the term “inversion.” Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch”shape with blue arrows) has taken control of our weather producing warmer offshore airflow.  Look for plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures today and Thursday. We have the potential of reaching 86 degrees or more for high temperatures today and Thursday. Upper level Low Pressure (Shaded “Oval” shape, then “U” shape) will replace the high pressure and return the much cooler onshore airflow. By Friday night into Saturday a weak frontal system will return the slight chance for showers.
