No winner. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. Define the term “inversion.” Here is the correct answer. Inversion (abbrev. INVRN) Generally, a departure from the usual increase or decrease in an atmospheric property with altitude. Specifically it almost always refers to a temperature inversion, i.e., an increase in temperature with height, or to the layer within which such an increase occurs. An inversion is present in the lower part of a cap. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Upper level Low Pressure (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) has replaced the high pressure returning the much cooler onshore airflow. The low will keep us in clouds sending disturbances our way until a High Pressure Ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) takes over for Wednesday and Thursday.
