Here is my new weekly weather quiz question. What is a “gale?” Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level ridge of high pressure (“Arch” shape in blue arrows) centered off the West Coast has kept the clouds away giving us dry weather with plenty of sunshine. That high is still in control, but a weak disturbance will slide by it across the northernmost reaches of Oregon increasing the clouds a bit for us.  The chance of precipitation will hold off until Thursday when a frontal system moves through.
