No winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “gale?” Here is the correct answer. A Gale is an extratropical low or an area of sustained surface winds of 34 (39 mph) to 47 knots (54 mph). I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

A short-lived high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape) will not brighten things up for your Saturday, but keep us in clouds with some sun peeks. Another upper level low (Shaded “U” shape on previous graphic) will move in behind returning the slight chance of showers for Monday. That means the chance of showers will be gone for the NCAA Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field that continue today. The slight shower chance will return for Father’s Day.
