No winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “radiational cooling?” Here is the correct answer. Radiational Cooling is the cooling of the Earth’s surface. At night, the Earth suffers a net heat loss to space due to terrestrial cooling. This is more pronounced when you have a clear sky. I’ll have another weekly weather question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) has been keeping us in sunshine and warm temperatures. An upper level trough of low pressure (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) will bring more onshore flow and cool us down a bit as we approach mid-week. A weak cold front will move through and at most only drop temperatures slightly Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
