Here is my new weekly weather quiz question. What is an “Environmental Temperature Sounding?” Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. A ridge of high pressure (“Arch” shape in blue arrows) is sitting east of us and will keep the sunshine and warmer temperatures with us into next week. A frontal system looks like it will be preparing to visit the Pacific Northwest by the end of next week, that is if it holds together. The Perseid Meteor shower has begun. It will continue and peak on the night of August 12.
