No winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “Backfire?” Now, here is the correct answer. A Backfire is a fire started to stop an advancing fire by creating a burned area in its path. I’ll have another weekly weather quiz question for you on Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

The upper level low (Shaded “U” shape in blue arrows) has moved farther away and took the chance of precipitation with it. High pressure (“Arch” shape with blue arrows over the ocean) is returning sunshine and warmer temperatures at least until Tuesday. A frontal system will move in by Wednesday returning the chance of showers.
