Here is my new weekly weather quiz question. What is  “popcorn convection?” Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. A frontal system moves into Oregon with cooler air behind it. An upper level low (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) slid down ahead of an upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) and it will give us another cooler day, then sunny and warmer, almost hot, days as the ridge of high pressure takes over. As the winds strengthen from the east due to the high we will see more smoke from the wildfire near Oakridge penetrate into the valley areas later this week.
