Don’t forget to fly the flag for the whole Independence Day weekend

_______________

Looks like no winner for my weekly weather quiz. Which President of the United States holds the record for the coldest and the warmest inauguration day? The answer is Ronald Reagan. His first inauguration, on January 20 1981, was the warmest ever (noon temperature 55 degrees) and for his second inauguration, which was the coldest ever, the temperature was 7 degrees and a wind chill temperature of -10 to -20 degrees. The second one was held inside due to the very cold temperatures. I’ll have another weekly quiz question for you Monday.  The first person to post the correct answer will win one free week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs.

_______________

An upper level trough of low pressure (See the “U” shaped yellow line) is moving through Oregon which will means the onshore flow has brought more clouds and cooler temperatures. It will be warming a bit by the 4th of July Holiday because an upper air ridge of high pressure (the “arch” shaped portion of the yellow lines over the Pacific). This also means good track weather for today’s ”Pre  Classic”  and better picnic weather for 4th and the “Butte to Butte” Sunday. It looks like the only chance of getting wet on the 4th of July will be at the lake or pool, or possibly in the mountains. Some locations in the valleys could see 90 degrees before the end of next week. So typical that the weather gets sunnier and warmer AFTER the 4th of July holiday weekend.
