Here’s my new weekly weather quiz question. This is the description of an Oregon disaster. “Every major highway in Oregon was closed, cutting off entire cities from emergency supplies. Fifteen people were killed and more than 11,000 were homeless. The governor activated the Civil Defense emergency radio network for the first time in Oregon history to declare the entire state a disaster area.” What was the disaster and when did it occur? Please place your answer as a comment after the forecasts. The first person to post the correct answer will win one week of  free personalized forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.
_______________

A stronger  upper level High Pressure ridge (the “arch” shaped portion of the yellow lines over the Pacific) is moving toward us and will switch our airflow from onshore to offshore warming us up quite rapidly. Some locations in the valleys will see 90 degrees or above before the end of next week as a result of that strong high pressure ridge.
