Sorry, some good guesses but no winner this week.  Here is the quiz question one more time. What nation in the world is said to have the worst weather on planet Earth? Sorry, but I thought this one was easy. When you consider overall nastiness (heat, cold, flood, drought, tornadoes, tropical storms, etc.) the United States manages to come up number one in just about all polls. My source for this fact is The Handy Weather Answer Book by Walter A. Lyons, Ph.D. a Meteorologist I met years ago while he was working in Minneapolis, Minnesota. You’ll get another chance to exercise your brains with next week’s quiz beginning Monday.

The weekend will be wet with a good 50% chance of showers Saturday, possible afternoon and evening thunderstorms, and a high only barely reaching 60. Wear the rain gear to the Duck’s game with kickoff time at 6:15 PM. For Sunday there will be a 50% chance of rain and only slightly warmer than Saturday. There will be a warmup into the 70s Tuesday through Thursday.  The full Harvest moon will occur at 11:10 PM Saturday though the clouds and showers will probably keep it covered up.
