Sorry, no winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “knot?” Here is the correct answer. A Knot (abbrev. Kt) is a unit of speed used in navigation, equal to 1 nautical mile (the length of 1 minute latitude) per hour or about 1.15 statute miles per hour, or 0.5 meters/sec). I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level low pressure trough ( shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) will keep the precipitation around as it slowly moves eastward. A frontal system pushed southward through Oregon and then a warm front moved back to the north Friday. Now the cold front is moving in producing more rain and some high winds.
